SwapUp Kit and Pass Terms & Conditions

By consigning your items with us, you partner with SwapUp and agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Item Acceptance

  • We reserve the right to accept or reject any items for consignment
  • We have a strict no fast fashion, no damage, no stain, no odour, no fur policy. All items must have their original brand and size label intact.
  • Rejected items may be donated or discarded at any point without further notice
  • Please note that we are unable to offer feedback on why we reject a specific item, as we process a large volume of items per day.

2. Selling Channels (In-Store & Online)

To maximise consigned item's visibility and chance of selling, SwapUp operates two seamlessly integrated channels:

  • Online : Accessible Australia-wide, featuring professional photography and digital listing for a national audience.
  • In-store: Physical retail space, providing a curated brick-and-mortar shopping experience.

Channel Allocation: SwapUp has sole discretion over whether your item is listed online, placed on the boutique floor, or cross-listed across both channels based on seasonal demand, style trends, and space availability.

3. Payout

  • Depending on the price (excl. GST), you will receive the following payout when and if your consigned item sells:
    • up to $30 >> 15%
    • $30 to $50 >> 25%
    • $50 to $100 >> 35%
    • $100 to $200 >> 50%
    • $200 and above >> 60%
  • You can use your payout to cash out or shop (online or in-store)
  • You will receive an additional 20% bonus on top of your requested gift card amount. For example, a $100 balance is equal to $120 shopping credit.
  • To shop online, you can convert your balance to online SwapUp gift cards that are valid for 1 year (min. $1 per request).
  • To shop in-store, simply show a valid photo ID.
  • To cashout, you need to nominate a bank account and request the amount you wish to be transferred. Cashout requests are processed weekly to your nominated bank account. We strictly distribute cashouts via bank transfer only.

4. Pricing

  • SwapUp sets the price of each item based on data from previous sales and fair market rate
  • We may adjust the price, discount, and/or offer promotions from time to time to maximise the item's chance of selling

5. Consignment period

  • The consignment period is 7 weeks from the date of item publication (online and in-store)
  • In very rare cases, we may extend or shorten the consignment period at our discretion

6. Unsold items

  • After the consignment period ends, you have an additional 7 days (for items in store) or 14 days (for items online) to collect unsold items from their location. We can also ship them to you with a small handling fee of $5 per retrieved item plus shipping cost (including 1% cover value)
  • Uncollected items become the property of SwapUp and may be included in charity contributions, community engagement programs, bulk resale or new location launches without further notice. We have introduced this due to the large volume of pieces that can be left behind, as well as our limited storage capacity
  • Until the item is collected / cost of retrievals is paid and received, items may continue to be sold, however, sellers will not be eligible for payout

7. Theft and loss

  • We will endeavour to ensure that your items are safe and secure with us, however SwapUp takes no responsibility if an item is damaged, lost or stolen or if there is a fire, water damage as well as other unforeseen situations. Our store and warehouse have camera surveillance, all thefts will be reported to NSW police.
  • This does not apply if the item is uncollected (see point 5) and becomes SwapUp's property

8. Dispute resolution

  • This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of NSW
  • Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be resolved through mediation
